Its manufacturing unit was subsequently sold off in 1996, after which the company transitioned into a pure investment/holding entity.
Carbo-Ceramics is essentially an investment company — it no longer has any manufacturing or trading operations. The company primarily invests its surplus funds in mutual funds and fixed interest-bearing securities.
