NSE put The India Bulls Housing Finance securities on the ban list under the F&O on 4th October
Justification
The ban was imposed because the security exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL). However, investors can still trade the stock in the cash market. The NSE updates the ban list daily, and once a stock is on the list, no new positions in its F&O contracts are allowed.
Sensex and Nifty's equity benchmark indices closed at 65,512.10 and 19,528.75 points, respectively.
The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 316.31 points (0.48%) to close at 65,512.10. It reached a low of 65,344.59, down 483.82 points (0.73%) during the day. The Nifty dropped 109.55 points (0.56%) to finish at 19,528.75 on Tuesday.
Maruti, NTPC, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank, among others, emerged as the major laggards, whereas Bajaj Finance, L&T, Bajaj Finserv, and Titan gained.
A/c to experts, the market consolidation is making FII pull funds from India, given the rising US yields & dollar Index.
The infrastructure sector rose with a slight decline in Auto, which is expected to pace up.
MWPL refers to the number of Futures and options contracts that can be held by market participants combined for a particular stock.
