Indian Potash Ltd (IPL) has entered into a three-year partnership with UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions (UPL SAS) to improve sugarcane productivity around IPL's Kodinar Sugar Mill in Gujarat. The programme will cover 2,000 acres of cultivation.
The collaboration will introduce regenerative farming practices, advanced agronomy, crop protection, balanced nutrition, digital monitoring, and farmer training to improve yields while promoting sustainable agriculture.
The initiative aims to optimise the use of seed, soil, water, fertilisers, and crop residue management, improving resource efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of sugarcane cultivation.
Better sugarcane yields are expected to strengthen raw material availability for IPL's Kodinar Sugar Mill, improving plant utilisation, operational efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.
The partnership also supports IPL's broader strategy of combining agricultural services with sustainable farming practices, while improving farmer incomes through higher productivity and better cultivation techniques.
